Wenn Sie zu jenen Puristen gehören, die ein Schaltgetriebe im neuesten Porsche 911 vermissen, ist heute Ihr Glückstag. Zuffenhausen hat bestätigt, dass rechtzeitig vor der Saison 2020 ein Siebengang-Schaltgetriebe auf den US-Markt kommt. Und das Beste daran? Der manuelle 992 wird zum Schnäppchen im 911-Programm.
Warum? Porsche macht das manuelle Getriebe nicht nur beim Carrera S und Carrera 4S zu einer kostenfreien Option, sondern fügt jedem Siebengang-Schalter ohne Aufpreis das Sport Chrono-Paket hinzu.

Das Paket beinhaltet dynamische Motorlager, einen Sportmodus für das Porsche Stability Management System, ein automatisches Rev-Matching-System und einen Modusknopf am Lenkrad. Bei den Carrera-S-Modellen beträgt der Aufpreis für das Paket normalerweise 2.326 Euro. Das handgeschaltete 911 wird auch mit einem mechanischen Sperrdifferenzial und Porsche Torque Vectoring geliefert, anstatt mit dem elektronischen Sperrdifferenzial bei Fahrzeugen mit PDK-Ausstattung.
Falls Sie jetzt auf ein "Aber" gewartet haben, dann kommt es hier: Porsche bestätigte gegenüber Motor1.com, dass es derzeit keine Pläne gibt, das Siebengang-Schaltgetriebe beim 911 Carrera und Carrera 4 anzubieten. Das ist definitiv ein Jammer für Fans des weniger leistungsstarken 992, obwohl wir annehmen, dass die Beschränkung des manuellen Getriebes auf die S-Modelle die Kunden zum teureren 450-PS-Modell führen könnte.
Während das Schaltgetriebe sicherlich ansprechender sein wird, wird ein damit ausgestatteter 911er allerdings nicht ganz so schnell sein. Porsche nennt für den geschlossenen Carrera S mit der Siebengangbox eine 0-auf-100-Zeit von "rund vier Sekunden" und eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 306 km/h. Zum Vergleich: Das mit PDK ausgestattete Auto erreicht die 100-km/h-Marke in 3,7 Sekunden erreicht 308 km/h. Porsche verspricht detailliertere Leistungsdaten vor dem Verkaufsstart.
Etwas überraschend ist die Tatsache, dass Porsche die Einführung des Siebengang-Getriebes zunächst im Automatik-Land USA bekanntgegeben hat. Dort bleibt der Preis unabhängig vom Getriebe gleich. Im Fall des 911 Carrera S wären das hierzulande 120.125 Euro. Aber wir warten noch die offizielle deutsche Pressemitteilung ab.

Seven-speed manual transmission option at no extra charge
Atlanta, Georgia. Porsche is announcing the availability of a seven-speed manual transmission for the 2020 911 Carrera S and 4S Coupe and Cabriolet models. At no additional charge, customers can select this option as an alternative to the standard 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission. The seven-speed manual comes paired with a standard Sport Chrono Package. This package includes Dynamic Drivetrain Mounts, PSM Sport Mode, a rev-match function and the mode switch on the steering wheel which allows the driver to select between Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and the customizable Individual mode. As on the previous generation 911 Carrera S and 4S models, the manual transmission versions come with a standard mechanical limited-slip differential including Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), replacing the fully variable, electronically controlled limited slip differential that is standard on the models equipped with PDK.
The manual transmission option combines a particularly engaging driving experience with compelling performance. The 911 Carrera S with manual transmission can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 4 seconds and reach a top track speed of over 190 mph. Curb weight for the new 911 Carrera S Coupe with a manual transmission comes in at 3,298 lb. Detailed specifications will be available before the cars arrive in market.
The seven-speed manual transmission for the 2020 911 Carrera S and 4S models can be ordered now. Vehicles equipped with this option are expected to reach U.S. dealers in Spring 2020. The MSRP for the 2020 911 Carrera S with manual transmission is $113,300, while the 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet with this option retails for $133,400 – both not including the $1,350 delivery, processing and handling fee.
